Injury Treatment Protocol recommended by Weil Lab
SPRAINS & STRAINS
Sprain refers to injuries of ligaments that hold the bones together at the joint.Strain refers to injuies of a muscle or tendon. Tendon connects muscle and bones. Strains and sprains are the most common injuries.
BONE FRACTURES
Bone Fractures and Bone Contusions typically heal in 2-3 months. However healing time can be reduced to 17 days with FASTT Patches, by increasing blood flow and lymphatic circulation to the injured area. Fastt Patches should be used as soon as possible to begin healing.
Bone Fractures and Bone Contusions Treatment: 6 FASTT Patches (typically Large or Extra Large size) are needed to heal bone fractures in 17 days. Be sure that you order a large enough size to cover the entire injury.
Note: If the bone has been broken completely, an orthopedic adjustment is necessary BEFORE applying the FASTT Patch, and a cast may be required to allow the bone to properly realign.
TENDONITIS
Tendonitis is a condition of tendon inflammation that results from acute injury or overuse. Tendons which attach muscles to bones, do not receive the same amount of oxygen and blood that muscles do, therefore; they heal more slowly than other types of injured tissues. Injured tendons that connects to the bone is the most difficult to treat. Examples of Inflammation Stage Tendonitis are: rotator cuff, tennis elbow, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Achilles tendonitis, Plantar Fascitis, groin pull, Patellar tendonitis, hamstring tendonitis, and hip tendonitis. FASTT Patches effectively heal tough to treat tendonitis.
Actue Inflammation Stage that began less than 3 months ago, Treatment: 3 FASTT Patches to heal in 8 days.
Chronic Inflammation Stage Tendonitis that began over 3 months or is due to Overuse . Treatment: 6 FASTT Patches to heal in 17 days. Patients may feel pain increase initially if they have a chronic condition as part of the healing process. FASTT Patches need to bring chronic tendonitis back to an acute condition in order to heal.
POST SURGICAL WOUNDS
Post Surgical wounds in acute conditions that involve tendon, ligament and bone injuries, such as a torn miniscus or ACL repair, can be healed completely with minimized scar formation as long as treatment is started within 2 weeks of surgery. It is recommended to start the treatment after the skin has healed from surgery, normally 4 to 5 days after surgery. Treatment: 6 FASTT Patches (17 days).
INSTRUCTIONS
Be sure to order the correct size FASTT Patch. The FASTT Patch must cover the entire injury. Placement is critical. Wear each FASTT patch for 48 hours (2 days) and take a 24 hour break (1 day) before applying the next FASTT patch. A heat pad is helpful. Use Aloe Vera Gel if there is any skin irritation or itching. Oxi-Clean works great to remove any stains on cloth.
FASTT PATCH SIZE OPTIONS
Small (1" x .75") finger, toe
Medium (2" x 1.5") tennis elbow, golfers elbow, rotator cuff & patellar tendonitis, 1st degree ankle sprain, plantar fascitis, groin pull
Large (3.5" X 3") achilles tendonitis, hip tendonitis, 2nd degree ankle sprain, thigh, most fractures on small to medium bones
X Large (5" x 4.5") femur, shoulder, back, large bone fractures
Helpful Note: Measure the area that is swollen or in pain to determine your size. You want to make sure the FASTT Patch covers the entire injury. People over 50 may require an extra patch or two, because natural microcirculation decreases with age.
PRECAUTIONS
Avoid using ice on or near a patch at all times. Ice will slow and interrupt the healing process. Avoid taking any ibuprofen (anti-inflammatory drugs), this slows down the healing process as well. Avoid using on open skin, including scuffs, scrapes and scabs. Do not use if you are pregnant, highly allergic or have extremely sensitive skin. The FASTT Patch is latex free and has no known contraindications to current medications.

- First Degree (or minor) muscle Sprain or Strain. Pain and swelling are minimal and range of motion is not affected much. Treatment: 1 FASTT Patch (2 days)
- Second Degree muscle Sprain or Strain. Pain, swelling and bruising are more severe and range of motion is decreased. Treatment: 2-3 FASTT Patches (5-8 days)
